The Juste un Clou and the Man Who Understood It

Cartier Juste un Clou men who wear it know something others don't. Aldo Cipullo's 1971 nail bracelet was never just for women — and it still isn't.

I didn’t go looking for my second @cartier piece. It found me — the way the right things usually do.

The Juste un Clou has been on my wrist every day since I got it. It’s one of the most versatile wrist wear and might I add unassuming and understated… which is why I probably liked it in the first place.

Aldo Cipullo designed this in 1971. He took a nail. Put it in gold. Called it just a nail — Juste un Clou — and meant every word of it. Most people hand this bracelet to women. They’ve been getting that wrong for fifty years.

This is that piece.
The full story — Cipullo, the design, what it means on a man’s wrist in 2026 — is on the blog.
